Every 15 minutes, currentIQ decides what your battery does: charge from the sun, charge cheaply from the grid, hold energy for the evening, or sell it when the price peaks. It plans on tomorrow's real prices from the Romanian day-ahead market, a solar forecast for your roof, and your household's habits — which it learns on its own.

Works with the inverter and the electricity supplier you already have. We are not a supplier.

Your battery is only half smart.

Every hybrid inverter ships with one mode: “self-consumption” — charge by day, discharge by night. Perfect on a fixed-price contract. On a market-indexed plan the price changes every quarter hour: at noon your export is worth almost nothing (sometimes less than nothing), and at 20:00 the same kWh is worth ten times more. Your battery doesn't know that.

Sells at noon, buys in the evening

The battery is full by 11 and everything produced after that is exported at the lowest price of the day. In the evening, when the price is 4–5× higher, the battery runs down and the house pulls from the grid at the peak.

Can't see tomorrow

A rainy day after a clear one means an empty battery at 6 a.m. and peak-price import. A controller that knows the forecast would have charged cheaply the night before — exactly what's missing, no more.

Two inverters, zero coordination

Extended your system with a second inverter? Each one plays for itself: one exports, the other soaks up its neighbour's export and calls it sunshine. Zero gain, double the wear.

    Connects to the inverter, locally

    currentIQ talks to your inverter over its control interface (Modbus) on your own network — the same interface installers' tools use. No hardware changes, no extra wire to the battery.

    Gathers tomorrow's data

    Every afternoon, when OPCOM publishes next-day prices, it combines them with a solar forecast for your roof (orientation, tilt, capacity) and your household's consumption profile — learned from the inverter's own meters, not assumed.

    Solves the plan and executes it

    It computes the optimal plan across the day's 96 fifteen-minute slots, sends the right command to the inverter each slot, and checks the battery actually did what it was told. When reality diverges, it re-plans.

How it thinks

Price arbitrage is the easy part. The hard part is not getting everything else wrong — and that's where most of the work went.

The overnight reserve

The plan never leaves you without energy at 6 a.m.: it keeps exactly what the house needs until the sun is back, computed from your real consumption in those hours — not a fixed “safety” percentage that's too small in winter and too large in summer.

Learns your house, not the datasheet

The consumption profile, the battery's real capacity and its round-trip efficiency are learned from telemetry. A nominal 10 kWh battery that actually holds 9.2 usable is planned as 9.2 — otherwise every plan starts with an 8 % error.

Sees bad weather coming

When the forecast shows several sunless days in a row, it charges ahead while prices are low, instead of discovering the shortfall at 19:00 on the second grey day. It compares against recent weeks, not a fixed threshold — winter isn't “bad weather”, it's winter.

Coordinates several inverters

Two inverters, two batteries, one plan: who exports, who holds, who charges and how much — without cancelling each other out on the same meter. The small battery sells its energy at the price peak, not in the first slot that happens to export.

Verifies execution

A command sent is not a command executed. currentIQ compares what it asked for with what the battery reports and, if it isn't happening, drops that unit from the plan and re-solves with what works — within minutes, not after a day of peak-price import.

Decides locally, with cloud diagnostics

The plan is computed and executed inside your home and keeps running if the internet drops. Only diagnostics leave the house — status, errors, version — so we see a problem before you see it on the bill.

The supplier

We are not an electricity supplier. And we don't want to be.

currentIQ needs a contract indexed to the spot market (PZU): only then can the price at 20:00 differ from the price at 13:00. You keep your supplier and your meter; we just make your battery take advantage of the right contract.

In Romania, E.ON and PPC Energy offer such contracts to households.

Why currentIQ exists

My battery was exporting at noon for 2 cents and letting the house buy at 50 in the evening. It wasn't broken. It was designed that way.

currentIQ started in the summer of 2026 in an engineer's home: two inverters, over 30 kWh of batteries and a market-priced contract — and a battery doing the exact opposite of what the prices said. The system has run there non-stop ever since; the chart at the top of this page is from it, every day, including the days something went wrong. Every feature above exists because it was missing on a specific day.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to change my electricity supplier?

You need a contract indexed to the spot market (PZU). If your supplier offers one — E.ON and PPC Energy do — you stay with them and only change the offer. We don't sell electricity and don't broker contracts; our job ends at your battery.

What do I actually gain?

It depends on your battery, your household's consumption and that year's prices, and we don't want to promise you figures from simulations. That's why the chart at the top is real, day by day, bad days included. If you want a number for your house, ask for a simulation on your data.

Which inverters and batteries work?

Verified on real hardware: Fronius Gen24 / Symo Hybrid and Solis hybrids. Planned: Huawei and SolaX. The battery matters less — currentIQ talks to the inverter, which manages its own battery. If you have something else, tell us in the form.

Does it need the internet?

Yes, once a day, for prices and the solar forecast. If the internet drops, the day's plan continues locally. If something fails outright, the inverter falls back to its normal self-consumption mode on its own — it is never left stuck in a command.

Does it wear out my battery?

It respects the inverter's limits (minimum state of charge, maximum power) on every command. Extra grid cycles carry a wear cost the plan pays explicitly — it doesn't cycle the battery for pennies. And you choose how much arbitrage you want, from “none” to “full”, with a single slider.

Where does my data go?

It stays in your home; you see everything on a local dashboard, from your phone or laptop. Only diagnostics leave (status, errors, version), so we can help when something's off. We don't sell or share data.

How is it installed?

A small box plugs into your home network with a cable, finds the inverter by itself and walks you through setup. For the first customers we come on site ourselves and keep an eye on the system in the first weeks.

Does it affect my inverter's warranty?

currentIQ uses the manufacturer's documented control interface (Modbus), the same one installers and commercial energy-management systems use. We don't modify hardware or firmware and we don't open anything.

What does it cost?

We're setting the price together with the first customers — a box and a small subscription, stated clearly before any commitment. Joining the list commits you to nothing.
